This is reinforced at the beginning of every single game with the caption: The final significant approach Telltale Games uses is designing their games to revolve around a “Role-Playing Experience”, in which each of your decisions determines the narratives outcome. This concept is made even more apparent through generating multiple seasons of games, each continuing important plot-threads from the previous game, creating one-long story-arc for your characters to endure. Telltale Games opts for the episodic approach of releasing their games, creating a season’s worth of content before distributing each episode over the course of several months, making their games feel like a TV Show that you tune into each month until its conclusion in the explosive season finale. I guess I’m not the best to describe this kind of thing because I’m not an artist, nor a game designer, but you get the jest of what I’m trying to convey. ![]() Instead of going for high-quality, and realistic, looking graphics they opt to utilise a more graphic novel styled concept which creates a colourful 3D drawn environment that makes you feel as though you’re experiencing an interactive TV Show. They have a distinct art-style that differentiates them from other gaming studios out there. ![]() You instantly know a Telltale Game just by the way it looks. ![]() In many ways their formula identifies the company. Some might say that’s lazy, or runs the risk of making each game identical and repetitive, but Telltale Games finds a way to make each of their games unique and different from one another, despite sharing similar qualities. I definitely agree with the term, “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it.” Telltale Games has this term down to a tee through establishing a well-functioning formula that they keep for each of their games. ![]()
